UKA Coach Building A Better Coaching Environment

UKA Athlete Development Model Podcast

UKA ADM Podcast

The UKA Athlete Development Model (ADM) has been created to provide guidance surrounding long-term athlete development, specifically in relation to how to progress from when they first become involved in Athletics through to international success.

The content of this document will be used to inform future strategy across the UK from Coaching Qualifications and Coach Development Programs right the way through to competition structure and international team selection.

In this detailed podcast John Kiely and Tom Crick discuss the ADM and draw out the interaction between the various factors. For coaches of developmental athletes this is essential listening and future content on uCoach will aim to expand on the issues discussed.

For those who require more detail John Kiely has already produced information regarding both tendon health and performance as well as bone development in young athletes.

Very interesting but I was hoping for more on adults returning or first taking up athletics and how the ADM works for them.
