England Athletics Senior Championships

England Athletics and the UK CAU are combining to hold the England Athletics AAA and UK CAU Senior Championships and England Athletics Senior Disability Athletics Championships at Bedford on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July.

The deadline for entries is very soon - Friday 8th July.

The 2015 Championship provided a very good competition and the partnership which brought together the Counties, UK CAU, AAA and England Athletics produced exciting fields and highly competitive action. All English athletes will be eligible for England Athletics / AAA medals and trophies as well as being part of the UK CAU competition.

Entry standards include those achieved over the past TWO years - in competitions after 1st January 2015.

For the first time the Senior Championships are also the selection event for the Manchester Home International meet to be held on Wednesday 17th August with Champions being automatically selected for Manchester (please note the Manchester meet is an evening meeting and therefore is likely to be a restricted programme).

University choices for endurance athletes

Now that the exams period is almost over, many endurance atheltes will be considering universities that support them in their sport.

Our University information web pages have been updated to reflect 5 institutions that England Athletics have been working with to help endurance athletes choose where to go. There is also information on American universities and the offers they can make. The information includes details on bursaries and scholarships, staff and scientific expertise and recommendation by other athletes. You can also read a document that covers 23 universities in the USA.

David Lowes is the England Athletics endurance University Coordinator for the aforementioned Universities and can answer questions related to the sport (not to educational matters!). You can contact David at

You can find out more general information about going to University while keeping up with your athletics in our university web section at
