Coach in Running Fitness Award Resources

CiRF

In this section you can find resources that support the Coach in Running Fitness award coaching qualification.

From January 1st 2016, the assessment of the Coach in Running Fitness course will include an online knowledge test (including health and safety) and a practical assessment. The Coach in Running Fitnss 2016 Online Knowledge Test can be accessed and completed at any point in time but must be completed to pass the qualification. The practical assessment is slightly longer and will require candidates to bring along a Mesocycle plan, in addition to their session plan. The plan will be discussed as part of an extended review at the Observed Practical Assessment (OPA) day.

Assessment for coaches commencing after 1st January 2016

From January 1st 2016, the assessment of the Coach in Running Fitness course will include an online knowledge test (including health and safety) and a practical assessment. The Coach in Running Fitness 2016 Online Knowledge Test can be accessed and completed at any point in time but must be completed to pass the qualification. The practical assessment is slightly longer and will require candidates to bring along a Mesocycle plan, in addition to their session plan. The plan will be discussed as part of an extended review at the Observed Practical Assessment (OPA) day.

The existing CiRF Assessment Guidance for Candidates has been unaltered, candidates are asked to disregard the sections covering the coaching diary and PebblePad as these are no longer used as assessment mechanisms. The document will still however provide you with useful information regarding the online knowledge test and the observed practical assessment.

PebblePad User Guides 

Coaches commencing the AC course from September 2014 will complete the Coaching Diary online via PebblePad. The diary is split into three workbooks for you to complete and submit online as you progress through the qualification. Attached are several video guides to get you started. Please note the workspace and workbooks used in these videos are for Athletics Coach. The CiRF programme follows the same structure structure, as you begin to follow these instructions use the CiRF resources and links as opposed to the Athletics Coach ones.
